Assessments
Struggling with focus, learning, or mental health concerns? A psychological assessment can be an important step toward a formal diagnosis, accessing supportive resources, and understanding yourself better.
What is an assessment?
A psychological assessment provides a detailed understanding of how your brain functions in key areas, such as:
Memory
Attention
Language
Problem-solving
Emotional regulation
These assessments can help clarify diagnoses, guide treatment planning, and document cognitive changes over time. My in-person diagnostic services provide clarity and actionable steps—whether for understanding neurodivergence, personal growth, or supportive accommodations.

Psychological assessments are in-depth, individualized processes that go far beyond a typical therapy session. Including:
Extensive testing time: Assessments often take several hours of face-to-face testing and interviews.
Specialized tools: The tests used are licensed, research-backed instruments that require costly materials and ongoing training to use properly.
Expert interpretation: After testing, Dr. Rhoades spends many hours scoring, analyzing results, and writing a detailed, tailored report.
Integrated recommendations: Your report includes personalized insights and practical next steps designed to support you at school, work, or in therapy.
-
No, my practice focuses on psychological assessments intended to support clinical care, treatment planning, and everyday functioning. I do not conduct forensic assessments for legal purposes, including custody cases, court-ordered assessments, disability claims, or competency determinations. If you are seeking a forensic assessment, I’m happy to provide a referral to a qualified provider in that specialty.
